Rebuild Hardie Chimney

We can rebuild that old Hardie Chimney, including the flashing. Most when we are working on a roof, we must redo the flashing at the bottom. When we take the first level of Hardie off by the roof deck the entire Hardie chimney slumps down on one side like an accordion. When this happens, the chimney needs to be rebuilt. Hardie is made of concrete and very easy to crack or chip at the stress points of where the nails hold it to the frame. It does not come off and go back on like wood does. We can install new framing under the Hardie if necessary. We use a layer of Tyvek water blocking protection under the new Hardie Board and Hardie trim. After the new chimney rebuild is complete, we paint the chimney to match the house. We also install new chase tops, rain collars and rain caps.
